Like a hidden treasure, at Cape Town’s famous Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, you’ll stumble across an undiscovered little gem. Vista Marina boasts nautical finishes and couture styled glamour where you can enjoy a scenic view and delicious meals, alongside the aquarium. Their highbacked dining chairs in rich blue velour with gold embroidered logos as well as the subtle blue lighting, really leans towards a cruise style dining experience.
Myself and my crew, enjoyed some of the most phenomenal sushi we have had in a while. The flavours were unique, everything was ocean fresh and the presentation was beautiful. They have a lovely special running throughout the week where you can enjoy sushi and cocktails, between 12pm and 7pm at half of the price. We will be taking advantage of that soon.
Lesley, our steward was an absolute pleasure and we found his character to be that of someone who truly exudes confidence and a real joy when it comes to sharing in the experience of the coming together of good friends, over a scrumptious meal. His smile was reassuring as he placed our seafood platter on our table, so we couldn’t wait to get stuck in. We enjoyed creamy mussels, grilled fish, pan fried calamari and butterflied, lemon-butter prawns. This was served with rice and steamed veggies, made to perfection and it looked too good to eat.
Elmarie, enjoyed their beer battered hake and chips and she couldn’t stop telling us how flaky and succulent the fish was.
We enjoyed a chardonnay from their wine collection, and it paired beautifully with the seafood.
We kept ourselves, some space, for dessert. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate was the order of the day. Cookie crumbs housed a selection of fondants, rich, creamy ice-cream and white chocolate truffles, while I enjoyed a creamy panna cotta, as we caught the beautiful hues of the changing sky as the sun set over our view.
We feel that this venue is the perfect place to host a birthday party or event, purely based on its lovely open plan design, big bar area and both spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas. You will experience a real harbour side, evening out and it should be done with lots of family and friends. Their extensive menu caters to everyone’s needs from vegan and vegetarian options to tasty steaks and dude food.
Treat yourself to a social gathering and allow yourselves to “sail away.”
