South African Rugby captain, Siya Kolisi, Award-winning designer Laduma Ngxokolo, humanitarian and top model Victoria Michaels and globally acclaimed artist Dr Esther Mahlangu will co-chair the AFI Fashion Week alongside Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe. AFI Fashion Week takes place from today the 12th – 14th of March 2020.
As co-chairs they will endorse the message of excellence and inspire the youth to excel in any craft. African Fashion International has over the past 12 years dedicated its effort in making sure that pan-African creatives are represented globally and become commercially viable.
“AFI was established to showcase the creative industry and to promote economic development and growth. This Fashion Week, we celebrate Fashion, Art, Music and Sport; and we have invited leading personalities in those fields to inspire young people to follow in their footsteps,” Dr Precious Moloi- Motsepe said.
“I am humbled at the compliments in being part of the co-chairs for AFI Fashion Week. We are rightly following in Dr Precious’ footsteps and that of others who are giving back and contributing immensely to the growth of various sectors in Africa especially in the area of educational empowerment,” Victoria said.
AFI will continue to select a few people every season who have done well in their field, giving them the platform to inspire and encourage other through their life stories.
AFI Fashion Week attendees will be spoilt for choice from the world-class produce runway shows to the Designer Marketplace which will be open to the public at no cost. The Designer Marketplace will also be available online which means African luxury will be a click away.
